In this video, I’m going to explain exactly what HubSpot Academy is... and why HubSpot Academy is important to your company.
Make sure you stick around to the very end because whether you’re just starting out or you’re a sales pro or a marketing pro, I’ll give you the two certifications just for you at HubSpot Academy to benefit your company today!
And if you’re a service pro or want to take your customer service to a new level, I’ll share two lessons HubSpot offers for you, just to start with!
What is it HubSpot Academy?
This is a bit of a loaded question.
The answer isn’t our typical one paragraph situation.
HubSpot Academy… it’s the platform where HubSpot teaches the world all about inbound marketing, inbound sales, business growth, modern communications, and more. HubSpot calls it the worldwide leader in inbound marketing, sales, and customer service/support training.
I like to think of it as a roadmap to success, to always learning.
Sure it’s a platform for learning this massive tool called HubSpot. But it’s more of a mindset. Always be learning. And for HubSpot, that means always be teaching.
With this free education platform, you get to learn at your own pace, diving into everything from the HubSpot platforms - the Sales Hub, the Marketing Hub and the Service Hub - to more general ideas like social media marketing, inbound sales, growth-driven design, content marketing, and so much more.
Let’s take a quick side trip, shall we? I think the history of HubSpot Academy is pretty interesting to the current story of it.
HubSpot made its splashy debut in 2006 to help companies find a better way to “do marketing.” Instead of the usual methods of finding prospects - interrupting their days with ads and cold calls - the inbound methodology was born.
This human and holistic marketing strategy made waves immediately.
It wasn’t long before they saw the need for an educational area of their business to help customers better understand inbound.
From the first certification for inbound marketing all the way to the current offerings of courses, certifications, and one-off lessons, you now have a convenient online, on-demand platform for learning the strategies and tools to help your business grow.
And you can do it all at your own pace and when-and-where it’s convenient for you.
Why is HubSpot Academy Important for Your Company?
Okay… so now that you know what it is in general, and a little of the history of HubSpot Academy, here’s what it means for you.
First of all, it’s free. So not only do you have HubSpot tools - many of which are free - but you have this powerful educational platform where you can learn a ton for free.
So whether you’re an executive or a manager looking for great people to staff your modern marketing team, or you’re looking for opportunities in the modern marketing, sales and service fields, HubSpot Academy helps. The certifications highlight people willing to put the work in to learn all about these current trends and growth-driven marketing and sales tactics.
But don’t just take my word for it. I asked a few of my Impulse Creative teammates why HubSpot Academy is important to them, and therefore to our company. Here’s they had to say.
How can you use HubSpot Academy for your marketing, sales, and service teams at your company?
In this section I want to explore more than just the generic “How can I use this” and dive deeper into the certifications available to you to supercharge growth at your company.
So if you’re a marketing professional, here are the two certifications to start with at HubSpot Academy.
Content Marketing - This is the foundation for executing an effective inbound marketing strategy.
This content marketing certification course will teach you how storytelling, content creation, repurposing, and promotion come together to build a content marketing machine that grows your business, and your career.
It’s what you build your marketing career or marketing success on. It has 11 lessons with more than 30 videos. HubSpot says it’ll take about 4 hours to complete.
This foundational course is well worth that time - and more.
Email Marketing - This certification will show that you know how to create an email marketing strategy that grows your business, and your career.
From contact management and segmentation to email deliverability and analyzing your email sends, you’ll learn how to build an email marketing strategy that is human and helpful and builds trust with your contacts.
In about 3-and-a-half hours, you could have a certification that covers the fundamentals of email marketing, shows that you understand strategy and helps you move the needle as an email marketing ninja.
Now, if you’re a sales professional, here are the two certifications for you to start with at HubSpot Academy.
Inbound Sales - This course covers the basics of an inbound approach to sales.
So if you’ve never heard of this new strategy, or you’re familiar with it, you’ll get an in-depth education in a little over 2 hours. This course is for individual sales reps who are looking for actionable tips to use in their next call or meeting.
You’ll learn how to identify new prospects, connect with them, explore their needs, and advise them on a path forward. Completing this course will help you identify the best contacts to reach out to, connect with your most promising leads, and run sales calls and presentations that drive results.
Sales Enablement - The Sales Enablement Certification will teach you how to develop a marketing-driven sales enablement strategy. While the course was designed with marketing managers in mind, sales leaders can benefit from learning the principles involved in this approach to sales enablement.
This course is made up of 12 classes and a 60-question exam. At about 4-and-a-half hours long, it’s well worth the time.
And if you’re a service professional, at the time of this recording, there aren’t service certifications. However, some lessons you might want to check out are:
Inbound Service Fundamentals. You know that people continue to evolve how they buy, and modern customers are more discerning than ever.
That's why you need to engage your customers in the way they demand, guide them to good outcomes proactively, and grow together through deep relationships and advocacy.
To grow better, you need to establish a scalable system to deliver exceptional customer experiences, delight the modern customer, and earn your promoters.
Customer Success and Account Health Checks. This is where you learn the benefits of administering “health checks” on your clients.
In this half-hour lesson, you'll learn how health checks can make your customer success team more successful through reducing churn and increasing customer advocacy. Of course since it’s something HubSpot offers, you'll also learn how to administer account health checks using a variety of HubSpot Marketing and Service Hub Professional tools, including workflows, tickets, and lists, to name a few.
Now that you know what HubSpot Academy is and why HubSpot Academy is important, make sure you are using it to its fullest for your company’s success.
Make sure you're being happy and helpful, human along the way and let us know how you are using one-to-one videos at your company.
