Hey, do you need a free CRM? Have you stumbled across HubSpot? And are you looking to get started but don't know what to click first? Well I'm your boy George Thomas and that's exactly what we're going to cover in this video. Let's go ahead and get started. Are you a HubSpot user looking for fun and interactive education that helps you be better at HubSpot then. Welcome to sprocket talk. I'm your Boy George B. Thomas from impulse creative your HubSpot ninja. Okay, I'm not a HubSpot ninja. Well, I'm not a ninja, but I love HubSpot. Let's go ahead and learn what we're going to learn today. So in this tutorial, I'm going to show you how to sign up with hub spots free CRM. I'm going to show you how they get you started and I'm going to add in some things that I pay attention to when getting started with the free CRM as well. HubSpot is a great CRM it is the ability to have your contacts, your leads your customers in a place where they are safe and Sound and you can pay attention to all the lead data. I'm going to show you how to create contacts. I'm going to show you how to delete contacts. I'm going to show you some things that you can do in settings as well as integrating your inbox for email. If you want to jump to certain sections, you'll see in the description below, there are links that you can click on, it will take you to those specific sections, whether it's contacts, settings, or something else that you need to learn about getting started, get ready to learn because we're going to dive into the HubSpot free CRM. So as you can see, I firstname.lastname@example.org and if you want to get to this URL, it'll be in the description below but it is hubspot.com forward slash products. forward slash get dash started, and you're gonna see right here, get free car. Organize your contacts get deeper insights on every lead and monitor deals with ease all for Yep, the FR e word free I'll explain why HubSpot. And why a CRM a little bit later in this tutorial, but we're going to go ahead and hit the get free CRM button right here. And you're going to see that it will pull up an account that we want to use. And we can even create a new user. So I'm going to go ahead and create an account with a new user in this case, and then I will fill this information out. So as you can see, I have this information filled out and the reason that I did this in a separate account using an email is I didn't want it to be attached with the agency account that we use for this tutorial. So I'm going to go ahead and get HubSpot CRM, I want you to see the exact process that you'll go through. And of course, you wouldn't have multiple accounts. We'll just have a single account. So we'll say so now you can see that I have website URL WP to inbound machine.com we want To put the company name, so I'll go ahead and fill that out. And then we can hit save and continue. Once we get that it's gonna ask us about ourselves so we can choose an option how many people are in the company? In this case, it's just a test website. We'll say one. And what field Do you work in? We will of course, say marketing, which of the following best describes you and in this case, we'll say marketing director, manager and we will complete the signup. Your HubSpot account is ready and it launches us into this page getting started with HubSpot. Now they have a little welcome here and we've got a progress bar that we can watch. It shows that we did create the account and now we can learn more about HubSpot. We can view slideshow get started with the CRM, watch this video. We can read an FAQ and we see here then what to do next and it takes about 25 minutes create our first contact. Install the HubSpot sales extension. Connect you're in Box, filter, your contacts crate, do all these wonderful things, but I'm going to show you exactly what I do. Immediately when we get this signed up. I'm going to come up here and I'm going to look for this little number. This is your HubSpot or hub ID right here. And I'm going to copy that. And I'm going to go over to the fake website that we're using. So you can see right here, it's WP to inbound machine. And we're going to go ahead and go into the dashboard. So we'll go ahead and just open that in a new tab. And what we're going to do is go down to plugins, because we want to hook up HubSpot that we just signed up for to our actual account. And so we'll hit add new, and then we're just going to do a search for HubSpot. We'll just type that in there. And it's going to load and we're going to see this contact form builder for WordPress conversion tools by HubSpot. We're going to install that
and then we're going to activate That. Once it's activated, you're gonna see right here Contact Form Builder for WordPress conversion tools by HubSpot, we can click on this Settings link right here. And it's going to take us to this panel where we actually see George Thomas marketing at WP to inbound machine. We can continue with that user. You're going to see requests for integration, permissions HubSpot, WordPress, we're going to grant access and bada boom, Bada bing, we can start exploring. So let me show you what happened when we signed up and put the plug in. We've got settings and what settings did is it gave us a place and by the way, HubSpot has been installed get started with HubSpot and watch your business grow, capture leads, contact insights, explore data, it can take us to our account, we're not going to do that we're going to close this out. But what it did is it attached that hub ID that I said I wanted to have and then put a code or tracking code on the website. We'll go ahead and show you how you can Make sure that tracking code is on your website here in a hot minute. But it also installed this forms tool. So right in your WordPress tool if you wanted to, you could create a form and you could use these forms. Now one thing I will say is when you create a form this way with the free version, there is going to be HubSpot branding on that form. And that may work for you. It may not work for you that's completely up to you. I am going to have other tutorials where I show you other forms that you can use and how they integrate with HubSpot. But just know that you can now start to create forms and put them on your website with the HubSpot tool. Now from this point you can test to see if HubSpot is on your website. What you can do is click over to the website, you can right click and you can say view page source. Now remember, when I copied that hub ID I'm going to hit Ctrl F and I'm going to just search for that ID. And there you see that ID is there on the screen. So we are good to go HubSpot is officially set up on our website and we are tracking people that come now let's go ahead and bounce back over to the getting started. And notice this progress so learn about HubSpot takes about four minutes. View the slideshow to see what HubSpot is all about. We're gonna hit this view slideshow, and we can see that what is HubSpot. Anyway, HubSpot is a full suite of office tools used by over 48,000 people in 100 countries to grow their business. That's awesome. By the way, we're going to go ahead and see that HubSpot talks about their three hubs. This is the service hub, the marketing hub and the sales hub. This is amazing. If you want to run your entire business on HubSpot, we're gonna see that actually walks us through each individual one of these hubs which this is HubSpot flywheel that they came out with a while back, and they're going to show that the CRM is the center of this now it's interesting because the way I look at businesses the customers are the center And I guess the customers are held in your CRM. So this does kind of make sense. But I get it HubSpot. I get it. Then we're going to see that we can start growing with HubSpot. We are on the seventh part of this slide. So you see that there's some decent information. You may want to do this. You may not want to do this. So we'll go ahead and close it out. We've done that this is nice. So get started with the CRM, watch the video or read the article or do both if you want. Look, I would suggest reading the article watching the video and actually watching more videos and reading more articles look getting the most ROI out of your free HubSpot CRM comes down to educating yourself around the tool. Now of course, there's going to be more videos like this one that you can watch But listen, HubSpot knows HubSpot. So maybe pay attention to HubSpot, read our FAQ, we can go ahead and click this button and read FAQ what to do next, create your first contact. I really don't do that first. But I will show you what Do inside of the HubSpot CRM. First, I come over to contacts. And I click on contacts and I realize that one of the things that I am going to have to do is I'm going to have to learn how to delete contacts. Because over the time that I have HubSpot, I'm going to get some leads that aren't great leads, I'm gonna get some leads that are just spam or junk. And my account is actually created with Brian Halligan and cool robot contacts, their samples. So we can go in and click on something and see how the actual contacts work. But I have tutorials that show you how contacts work, you can dive into those by searching YouTube or googling them.
But in this case, how do we delete these contacts we don't need in here, while we go ahead and just tick these little checkboxes. You're going to see permanently delete, it's going to ask you the number of contacts you want to delete. And we'll hit Delete. So why are you gonna want to do that? Well, sometimes people are gonna be a hard bounce they're gonna change their emails again. It's gonna be spam, they might not be active, so they're not engaged with your brand, there's going to be a bunch of different reasons, you're going to want to do that. By the way, if you don't go and actually verify your email, you are going to get this recent verification email. I just haven't done it yet. But I will go do that. So that this noisy little thing up here goes away for us, you do want to know how to create a contact. Let's go ahead and talk about how to do that here. There is this button that is create contact, there's going to be a slide in here and so we can add an email a first name and a last name. In this case, I'm just going to go ahead and add somebody that I know really, really well and that person is me, George Thomas inbound evangelist at impulse creative, I can now create a contact create an add another one or I can cancel it, I'm gonna go ahead and create that contact. So now, I have done the first thing that they asked me to do, or one of the first things that they asked me to do on that dashboard, and you can see that you're going to get a Three step tour that goes through. So this is going to talk to you about, you know, enjoy more context. So this is going to show like company, it's going to show deals, it's going to show tickets, it's going to show attachments, and any playbooks that you may have that round this individual contact right here, I'm gonna go ahead and hit next tip, and now look, create new activity. So this is where it talks about how you can leave notes. You can leave emails, you can call you can log activity, create tasks, and even have meetings right here. This is absolutely amazing. You're going to see there's some other details, but again, we'll dive deeper into this as we go. If we kind of close this one out, you're going to see website activity is here as well. So how many site visits how many pages I will tell you on the free version, this only lasts for a certain amount of time. And then you might want to pay to get the starter version so you can get website activities will hit next tip here and you're going to see create new activity. It's a kind of slide on or pop up or whatever you want to call it here to be able to do notes, emails and things like that you can actually extend this out and view full width or you can keep it down here out of the way if you want and then your tour is over. I'm going to go back to the dashboard, and you're gonna see when I get back to this dashboard, now that I've done that, we just kind of have this new look here, because we've now got contacts and things in place about marketing dashboard, sales dashboard, all that good stuff, we might want to get back to the getting started. One of the easiest ways to do that is actually just come up to your browser and click back on the Get Started and that will put you on the Get Started page. Now what we can do is we can see that we have created our first contact here and now connect your inbox to connect your inbox we're going to actually click Connect inbox. It's going to ask us if we have a Google or Gmail account and office 365 account or an other email account, Google is a one click office 365 is pretty much a one click other email account, you'll click in here. And you're going to see that you have this little section that you get to read and you can hit Continue. So if you are connecting your inbox via a different way than Google or office 365, I would suggest that you use knowledge articles to go ahead and get an understanding of what you're going to need to hook it up the proper way. No matter what hooking up your inbox is what makes HubSpot CRM free, magical because it can be your all in one place for again, notes, emails, calls, interactions that you're having. And later on, In this tutorial, we're going to talk about inboxes. It's magical. Let's dive back in.
So if you need to connect your inbox and you have gone past this section, and it didn't work there is a way that you can go into settings. And you can actually go into integrations and email integrations. And here is where you can actually connect an inbox. Here's the shared inbox that you can do. We'll talk about that later in the tutorials that we create, and the personal inbox that we want here as well. So if we now hit connect and inbox, you're going to see we get that same pop up where we can select Google office 365, or another email account. Now on our Getting Started dashboard. We're going to send a test email once we get that hooked up, and we're going to tour the contact record, which we already did. But then it says filter your contacts see the ones that matter and if we click on filter contacts, it's basically going to take us to this place where it talks about filtering contacts, and contacts without an owner could slip through the cracks. Let's use filtering to see which of your contacts aren't currently assigned to One of your team will hit Let's go. I only have one person in here. But really what they're talking about is filtering over here. We can add filters. This might be where we're looking for who the contact owner is. It might be what state they live in. It might be what forms they filled out, there's a ton of things like became a lead or the city or the contact owner or the days to close or, well, you get it. There's a lot of things that we can filter these contacts by over time. And I will mention that this is also where you're going to be able to create custom properties and filter out via custom properties over here. We'll do another tutorial about the actual filtering system inside of HubSpot, because it is quite robust. The things that you can do as far as saved filters, public filters, personal or private filters, that is quite robust. Now that we're back at getting started. We see Also that we can create a deal here. And so if we hit this button to create a deal, it's going to take us to the deals area. Hey, let's go. Okay, now we see that we can go into this contact record. And we can click on this button says Create deal. Now if we do that, it'll be automatically associated with this contact. You can also go sales and go deals and you could create a deal right here in this section. And I would also suggest that you pay attention to this deal stages and this pipeline that you have, because one of the first things you're going to want to do is actually make it your deal stages for your sales process. And you can do that by going to settings and you're going to see sales and deals. And this is where you can create multiple pipelines, as well as inside of the pipelines you can rename and adjust these deal stages. If you go into Sales Professional, you're even gonna have automation that you can do via the tool as well. And you see that's pretty much it on their Getting Started list. Now the good thing is that you don't necessarily have to do this you can just sign up and you can immediately start to click into contacts and companies into conversations into marketing into sales into service into automation into reports and see what is going on under the hood with your HubSpot CRM. But it is nice at HubSpot has laid out a way to get started laid out a way to get into this ecosystem that is the HubSpot CRM. It's that simple. It's that easy. That's how you get started with the free HubSpot CRM or the HubSpot sales hub. Now I'm gonna have more Getting Started tutorials that you can watch in the future. But if you do not have a CRM If you're not paying attention to your leads, your contacts your lead intelligence, the buyers journey, then this is a great place to start.
